Current Grant and Funding Opportunities: Assistance for Residents
Round 2 Grocery Gift Card Program

The purpose of the City of Redlands Round 2 Grocery Gift Card Program is to reduce the negative economic effects on disproportionately impacted households as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic by providing assistance and furthering access to food. The Grocery Gift Card Program is funded by the Coronavirus State and Local Recovery Funds (CSFRF/CLFRF).
About the program
Round 2 of the Grocery Gift Card Program provides eligible households with a monthly $100 grocery store gift card for up to one year. Applications will be accepted on a first eligible, first served basis beginning in February 2024. The City will continue to accept applications until further notice as funds become available.
- Reside within the City of Redlands; and
- Household income is below $65,880 per year; or
- Can demonstrate proof of current enrollment in one or more of the following programs:
- Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP)
- Childcare Subsidies through the Child Care and Development Fund (CCDF) Program
- Medicaid
- Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF)
- Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)
- Free and Reduced-Price Lunch (NSLP) and/or School Breakfast (SBP) programs
- Medicare Part D Low-income Subsidies
- Supplemental Security Income (SSI)
- Head Start and/or Early Head Start
- Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC)
- Section 8 Vouchers
- Low-income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP)
- Pell Grants
- Southern California Edison’s California Alternate Rates for Energy (CARE) or Family Electric Rate Assistance (FERA) program

Redlands Bonus Bucks Program
The purpose of the City of Redlands Bonus Bucks Program is to provide financial assistance to City-based small businesses impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. The Bonus Bucks Program is sponsored by the Coronavirus State and Local Recovery Funds (CSFRF/CLFRF).
The Buy one Get one campaign is no longer active.

How to Qualify
The program is open to all local independently owned and operated, for-profit, non-franchise, retail, restaurant and service-based small businesses defined as a small business concern by the Small Business Act that are not dominant it their field and meet the following criteria:
OR
- Have a physical business located within HUD’s Qualified Census Tracts (see map)
Non-qualifying establishments include Non-profits, tobacco/vaping, alcohol, firearms, adult/21 and older only, cannabis, and all chain, franchise, or other enterprises that do not meet the Small Business Administration requirements to be classified as a small business concern.
Eligible business participation in the program is contingent upon applicant agreement to the program’s terms and conditions and activating the e-gifts card on their point-of-sale systems prior to participating.
- Qualifying establishments include businesses that are independently owned and operated and is not dominant in its field of operation and is not a franchise
- Must be located within the City operating with all required current City licenses and permits
- Must have physical location in the City of Redlands
- Must be in good standing with the City
- Must have no more than 500 employees – including affiliates
- Business must be valid and in existence as of March 16, 2020 (date the city declared state of emergency due to COVID-19)
- Have experienced (and can provide documentation) negative economic impacts as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic such as:
- Decreased revenue or gross receipts
- Challenges covering payroll, rent or mortgage, and other operating costs
- Eligibility letter of SBA COVID relief participation
What Must Be Submitted
The following items must be submitted for an application to be considered complete and eligible for consideration:
- Completed program application with signature(s)
- Copy of current City of Redlands business license
- Evidence of economic impacts due to COVID-19
- Upon Request Only: Additional documentation supporting program eligibility may be requested
