The Civil War, mastodons, minerals, glassware and a Spanish chapel are some of the things you can explore at museums located in Redlands.

There are five museums located in Redlands with one more one the way.  Be sure to visit them all.

Lincoln Shrine

The Lincoln Memorial Shrine is the only museum and archives dedicated to the study of Abraham Lincoln and the American Civil War west of the Mississippi River. Its extensive collection of manuscripts, diaries, images and artifacts is maintained by the Special Collections Division of Smiley Library.

San Bernardino County Museum

The Lincoln Memorial Shrine is the only museum and archives dedicated to the study of Abraham Lincoln and the American Civil War west of the Mississippi River. The San Bernardino County Museum is a regional museum with exhibits and collections in cultural and natural history. Special exhibits, extensive research collections, and public programs for adults, families, students, and children are all part of the museum experience.

Kimberly Crest House

The Kimberly Crest House was built in 1897 and is a well-preserved example of Victorian Chateau architecture. In 1969, as part of an effort to save neighboring Prospect Park, Kimberly Crest was offered to the “people of Redlands” by the owner, Mary Kimberly Shirk. The house and gardens are now open to the public for tours as well as weddings and private events.

Historical Glass Museum

No, Redlands Glass Museum is not a museum made of glass, but it is the only museum west of the Mississippi River limited to displaying glassware made by American glass makers and artists. The Historical Glass Museum exhibits 6,000 examples of glass pieces housed in a 1903 victorian styled home. Some of these pieces date back to the 19th century while other are more modern and contemporary.

The MOR

The Museum Of Redlands is in the works.  The location is the old Redlands Daily Facts building at 700 Brookside Ave.  Historical artifacts are being collected and money raised to refurbish the building and set up exhibits.
