Man arrested in connection with series of downtown burglaries
Redlands Police arrested a suspect in connection with a series of downtown burglaries dating back to December 2025.
Nicholas Jesse Ontiveros, 38, of Redlands, was arrested while attempting to burglarize a business at 19 E. Citrus Ave.
Officers responded to a video alarm at Top Choice Gaming early in the morning of Feb. 6 and found Ontiveros in the alley nearby in possession of a surveillance camera that had been ripped off the wall inside the building. Nearby, officers located a pry bar and bolt cutters.
After questioning, investigators determined that Ontiveros had been involved in additional burglaries including at Cheesewalla, 5 E. Citrus Ave., on Jan. 27 and Cyclery USA, 21 W. Stuart St., on Jan. 15. He has also been connected to four downtown commercial burglaries reported in December, including Epic Engineers, and Therapy in Redlands, both located at 101 E. Redlands Blvd.; Talia’s Nail and Spa, 1546 Orange St.; and The State, 22 E. State St.
In each incident, Ontiveros forced entry into the business. Items taken included e-bikes, computers, mail, personal belongings and more.
