10th anniversary watercolor exhibition, reception set at Gonzales Center

The City of Redlands Facilities and Community Services Department will host a showcase reception featuring the works of local senior artists from 3 to 6 p.m. Saturday, March 14, at the Joe R. Gonzales Community Center, 111 W. Lugonia Ave.

Since June 2016, these watercolor classes have flourished under the expert instruction of renowned Redlands artist Cindy Sullivan. Celebrating nearly a decade of creativity, the program has become a cornerstone of the enrichment offerings at the Flores Senior Center. More than just an art class, the program provides local seniors with a vital space for self-expression, the opportunity to forge lasting friendships, and a supportive environment for personal artistic growth.

“For almost 10 years, these classes have been a wonderful opportunity for finding joy in self-expression,” said Sullivan. “We invite the community to come and admire the incredible talent and dedication these seniors have poured into their work.”

The reception offers a unique opportunity for the public to view a diverse gallery of watercolor pieces and meet the artists behind them. For those inspired to start their own artistic journey, staff will be on site to provide information and registration for future class sessions.
