Drone Notification
Anyone who owns a drone weighing more than 0.55 lbs. but less than 55 lbs., and intends to fly the drone within 5 miles of an airport, must notify the airport and FAA before flying the aircraft outdoors for hobby, recreation or commercial use.
Owners of an unmanned aircraft system (UAS) used for commercial purposes must register as required by Federal regulation. Completion of this form will meet the FAA notification requirements to the airport and FAA but will not meet Section 333 of Public Law 112-95 exemption requirements.
Current FAA guidance detailing operation of a UAS, registration and flight restrictions is available at http://www.faa.gov/uas/
