Single Day Sessions

Unlock your creativity and conquer the blank page! Our hands-on Mixed-Media Adventures series, where all supplies are provided for three immersive, beginner-friendly workshops. Whether you are building precise or organic layouts in a grid journal, layering vibrant paints and textures to craft versatile master sheets that transform into bookmarks and zines, or learning the art of hand-binding your own custom pamphlet-stitch booklet, each three-hour session gives you the freedom to experiment, play, and take home a collection of completely unique, finished creations. Join us for one or all three!

One 3-hour session
Grid journaling takes the blank page — often the scariest part of any creative practice — and gives it structure before you even pick up a pen. In this session, you’ll learn two approaches to building grids in your journal: hand-drawn grids for a looser, more organic feel, and taped-off grids for clean, precise lines. We’ll work through both methods so you
can decide which one (or which combination) fits the way you actually like to create.
By the end of the session, you’ll have three to four completed grid pages of your own, along with the skills to keep building this practice at home — no special art background required, just a willingness to make a few marks and see what happens

Ages: 16+

One 3-hour session
Master sheets are one of the best-kept secrets in mixed-media work — a way to create a stash of beautifully patterned, layered paper that you can turn into almost anything later, instead of staring down a blank page every time inspiration strikes. In this session, you’ll create three master sheets using paint, stencils, stamps, and mark-making tools, building
up rich layers of color and texture with no pressure to know what they’ll become while you’re making them.
Once your sheets are dry, we’ll cut into them. You’ll transform your master sheets into a set of finished pieces: bookmarks, gift tags, postcards, and a small zine — so you leave with both a stash of extra paper for future projects and a handful of ready-to-use, ready-to-give creations.

One 3-hour session
Bookbinding sounds like it belongs to people with fancy equipment and years of training —but the pamphlet stitch is one of the simplest, most forgiving bindings out there, and it’s entirely doable with a needle, some thread, and a little patience. In this session, you’ll learn the pamphlet stitch from start to finish: folding and scoring signatures, punching your
stitch holes, and sewing a clean, sturdy binding by hand.
Once your booklet is bound, you’ll decorate the cover using a variety of papers, stamps, and collage materials — turning a plain folded book into something that feels entirely yours. You’ll leave with a finished, fully bound booklet, ready to fill with sketches, writing, collage, or whatever your next creative impulse happens to be. No prior bookbinding or sewing experience is needed; if you can thread a needle, you can do this

Gel Printing Class

Five 2-hour sessions
Gel printing has a reputation for being intimidating — expensive plate, “wrong” colors, a technique you have to get right. This class exists to talk you out of that idea.
Over five sessions, you’ll learn the full foundation of gel plate monoprinting: layering, masking, mark-making, and pulling prints that surprise you in the best way. Once the basics feel comfortable, we’ll go further — exploring how the same plate can be used with a stamp pad and watercolors for even more options! No prior art experience is needed, and there’s no “good” or “bad” print here — just paper, ink, and permission to play
