Parking, Arrival & Street Closures

A large crowd is expected. Please allow extra time for parking, the walk to the airport and entry into the event.

Parking: Redlands Sports Park Complex

Public event parking will be available at the Redlands Sports Park Complex. Attendees will walk from the Sports Complex to the airport entrance using the designated pedestrian route.

Plan ahead: the parking area is separate from the airport event site, so build walking time into your arrival.

Plane-or-Treat Traffic Control

Aviation Drive will be closed/restricted to vehicle traffic for event safety and pedestrian access. The City’s closure plan also controls the airport approach along Sessums Drive. Follow posted road-closure, parking and pedestrian-direction signs.

The planned closure does not extend all the way to Wabash; traffic will receive advance warning, while an emergency access path is maintained.

Olive Avenue Halloween

The City’s official Halloween celebration, Plane or Treat, will be held at the Redlands Municipal Airport on Sunday, October 25. The airport provides a unique and exciting setting for a community-wide Halloween celebration while offering the space needed to safely accommodate a large number of families and visitors.

The City recognizes that Olive Avenue has been a popular Halloween destination for many years, including long before the City began sponsoring a Halloween event. We appreciate the tradition and enthusiasm that have made Halloween a special occasion for the community. At the same time, the growing number of visitors to the neighborhood has created increased concerns related to pedestrian safety, traffic, public safety, and impacts on Olive Avenue residents.

The City anticipates that some families may continue to visit Olive Avenue on Halloween night. As a public safety measure, Olive Avenue will be closed to vehicle traffic for a limited period on Halloween to help reduce conflicts between vehicles, pedestrians, trick-or-treaters, and neighborhood residents. The closure is intended solely as a public safety measure and should not be interpreted as a continuation or City sponsorship of Halloween activities in the neighborhood.

We look forward to celebrating Halloween with the community at the airport and encourage everyone to join us at the Plane or Treat event at the Redlands Municipal Airport for an afternoon of Halloween fun, community spirit, and safe celebration.

Olive Avenue Street Closure
Saturday, October 31
5:00-9:00 PM

To support the neighborhood’s historically heavy pedestrian trick-or-treating activity, the City will still facilitate a vehicle closure on W. Olive Avenue between Center Street and Cajon Street.

This Halloween-night closure is separate from Plane-or-Treat and is for pedestrian safety; it is not a City-hosted Halloween event.
