Youth & Adult Tennis

Match Play Tennis Academy targets tennis players of all ages and ability levels. Our teaching curriculum is based on the United States Professional Tennis Association player development program and has been operating in Redlands since 1980.

Future Stars 1

Grades Pre-K and K-1
This class uses the USTA 10 & Under format where players play on a 36’ x 18’ court with foam balls. These balls bounce 75% less than a regular ball. The goal of this class is to introduce hand-eye and tracking & receiving skills for future success.

Future Stars 2

Grades 1 – 6
This class plays on a 60 foot court which are the new USTA rules for this age division. The main focus changes to developing rally skills. Competitions are introduced at this level. The main goal of this class is to get players to be able to rally and serve the ball and play a match.

 Rising Stars

Grades 4 – 8
This class uses a variety of balls and court (sizes) to facilitate learning. Most of the training occurs on a 60’ court with low compression (orange ball) or green-dot balls. These are now the new USTA rules for this age division. The main goals of this class are to develop match play skills and proper technique.

Tournament Team 1

Grades 4 – 7
Just like the European models, we will use a variety of balls and court (sizes) to facilitate learning. Most of the training occurs on a regular-sized court using a yellow (regular) tennis balls and occasionally green-dot ball for certain skill acquisition. The main goal of this class is to get players ready to compete on their high school teams and to transition into regular tournament play.

Tennis Academy

Our Tennis Academy uses an integrated approach for on-court and off court physical training, mental toughness conditioning and constructing points for tournament play. The Professional tennis and fitness training staff will work together to build each player’s game at a personal level for a noticeable improvement.

The Academy enrollment is limited and participants must play UTSA tournament levels (5 & 6), (4, 3) or (2, 1) and/or be members of their High School Varsity team. Academy selection is based on ranking /invite criteria and Staff evaluation. This level is also open to collegiate level players.

Beginner Adult Tennis

No matter your level, our programs are designed to enhance your game. Your program will be guided by Sam Mason who believe in providing first-class instruction. Learning or returning to tennis has never been easier! This program is an introductory, instructional program for adults. It
is designed to quickly teach basic skills in a group environment. Classes meet weekly, for 1 1/2 hours of instruction and drills.

Intermediate To Advanced Adult Tennis

This Class is designed for players moving out of the intermediate level to the advance level. We will be working on Constructing points, Strategies and tactics. Learning what to do with the ball in different types of playing situations.
