Unleash your love for music this July with our free Music Appreciation series at the Eddie & Gloria Flores Senior Center! Each Monday brings a fresh, inspiring journey into the world of sound—celebrating different styles, stories, and rhythms that move us. Whether you join us for one class or all four, you’ll find connection, creativity, and the power of music to uplift and unite. Everyone is welcome—come be part of something beautiful!

July 7th: Music as an Identity

Participants will have an opportunity to discuss music through different era’s and the impact on generations. They will have an opportunity so share with others songs or artist that are meaningful to them.

July 14th: Music for Social Entertainment

A social activity that encourages participants to share with one another different kinds of music they enjoy listening to for different social events (birthdays, weddings, holidays, etc.). Group will have an opportunity to share songs with others.

July 21st: World Music & Music as Culture

A social activity where participants can discuss how music is influenced by culture. Participants will have an opportunity to listen to music from around the world and share songs from their cultural backgrounds.

July 28th: Music and Memory

The group will have an opportunity to discuss the positive impact of music on memory stimulation and recall. They will have an opportunity to share the name of a song/artist they remember listening to as a child, teen or young adult.
